As a keen cricketer, I like to describe my professional journey as a test match. I played my first innings in the UK, where I spent 8+ years completing my honors degree at the London School of Economics & Political Science and then completing my Chartered Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountancy, England & Wales.

My second innings was in NYC, US. I stayed at the crease for 12+ years, gaining leadership experience in some of the finest organizations viz a viz, manager in Big Four Accounting firm; Corporate Controller in the world’s 3rd largest clinical research company; head of internal audit and SOX for at the time the largest publicly listed real estate finance company in the US; EVP and GM in an international bank in the US, and finally as a partner in a CFO and risk advisory firm before declaring the close of my second innings.

My third innings lasted almost 10 years in the Saudi Arabia. It was not as long as my second innings but was quite exciting as I scored most runs in terms of rewards and accolades. For the first 3 years worked I as the CFO of a large multi-billion-dollar conglomerate. Finally, in 2014, I joined Leejam Sports Company initially as the CFO and subsequently became the CEO, where I helped build the company from a small family business to a publicly listed company on Saudi Stock Exchange and help become one of the top 15 fitness centre chains in the world as per IHRSA 2019 rankings, with more than 140 fitness centre locations in KSA and UAE.

And now finally, after 29 years, I am back in Pakistan to play my fourth and final professional innings hoping to deploy all that I have learnt and earned back into the country that I hail from. I worked many jobs over the last 25+ years, but finally found home in the fitness and wellness industry 7+ years ago.

I am now in Pakistan, and with a laser focus to build the first international level fitness chain in Pakistan, “TriFit”, bringing fitness to every city in Pakistan.

In addition, I serve as a (i) Board member and advisor to one of the biggest global fitness chains for their fitness centres in the Middle East Market; (ii) Honorary Audit Committee Board Member for the International Cricket Council; (iii) Advisory Board Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England & Wales of which I am also a Fellow; and (iv) Honorary Advisory Board Member of Tasdeeq.org – a disruptive technology platform to address crime in the blue-collar work force in Pakistan.

I am a frequent speaker as Industry Expert at fitness industry, finance, risk management and leadership conferences in the MENA, South Asia, US & Europe. Most recent: Oct 2019 – IHRSA European Global Congress (Keynote and 2 panels); Nov 2019 – ICAEW Corp Finance Seminar (Key note).
